Designed for a growing family, this Lake Geneva home renovation transformed the main living spaces into a bright, welcoming retreat for gathering and entertaining. Opening the kitchen to breathtaking lake views brought natural light into the home, while bold cabinetry, warm textures, and thoughtful updates throughout created a fresh, inviting atmosphere that celebrates both family and lakeside living.

With their family growing, the homeowners wanted to refresh their stately Lake Geneva home to better accommodate their children, grandchildren, and guests. The existing main level felt dated and disconnected from its beautiful surroundings, with a single small kitchen window offering only a limited glimpse of the lake. The goal was to create a more open, inviting environment that embraced the home’s setting while providing comfortable spaces for gathering.
-
Reimagining the open main level began with a transformative change to the kitchen. Removing the wall with the small window opened the space to expansive lake views, allowing natural light to stream in and creating a stronger connection between the interior and its surroundings.
The renovation extended into the great room and powder rooms, bringing a cohesive, refreshed aesthetic throughout the main level. Thoughtful furniture arrangements and updated architectural elements created comfortable, functional spaces designed for everyday living and entertaining.

A bold, high-gloss blue was selected for the kitchen cabinetry, balanced by white quartzite countertops and a substantial maple butcher block island. Beach-inspired drum pendants soften the vibrant palette and complement the home’s lakeside setting.
In the great room, the dated fireplace was replaced with limewashed stone and a warm, rustic mantel. Custom white bookcases lined with blue grasscloth frame the fireplace, while a pair of sofas, comfortable swivel chairs, and a classic coffee table create an inviting seating area.
Charming wallpaper, updated lighting, and furniture-style vanities bring fresh personality and character to the powder rooms.
